Hugh Bonneville stars as the eponymous tramp who reunites a young girl's family in this TV adaptation of David Walliams' comic festive tale. After discovering Mr Stink and his dog Duchess in a nearby park, friendless 12-year-old Chloe (Nell Tiger Free) invites him to stay in her family's garden shed. Initially horrified by the sight and smell of their new 'guest', Chloe's dysfunctional mum (Sheridan Smith) and dad (Johnny Vegas) finally relent. As news of his arrival does the rounds and his celebrity spreads, Mr Stink finds himself embarking on a journey that takes him to 10 Downing Street, before finally bringing Chloe's family together again in time for Christmas.
British comedy adapted by Ayub Khan-Din from his stage comedy 'Rafta, Rafta'. Set in Bolton, the film stars Amara Karan and Reece Ritchie as young newlyweds Vina and Atul, for whom married life is proving far from straightforward. What with his interfering parents (Harish Patel and Meera Syal), the childish pranks of his brother, nosy neighbours and a community that thrives on gossip, Atul becomes so woefully inhibited by the whole situation that his beautiful virgin bride looks set to remain just that, as a consummation of their union becomes nothing short of an impossibility.
A slightly different slant on the 'slacker' comedy genre directed by 'Friends' star David Schwimmer. Five years ago Dennis (Simon Pegg) was at the altar about to marry Libby (Thandie Newton), his pregnant fiancee. He got cold feet and headed for the hills, and he's been going in circles ever since. When Dennis discovers Libby's now hooked up with high-flying go-getter Whit (Hank Azaria), he realises it's now or never. Assisted by his friend Gordon (Dylan Moran), he decides to enter a marathon to show he's not a quitter but then finds out just how much sweat, strain and pain it takes to run for 26 miles. No one rates his chances, but Dennis knows this is the only way to stop being a running joke.
A daughter tries to reunite her warring family in this food-centred comedy set in Leicester's 'Little India'. After falling out in spectacular fashion, brothers Raja (Harish Patel) and Jagi (Kulvinder Ghir), who both happen to be chefs, decide to divide up the family recipe book and open rival restaurants across the street from one another. With one brother concentrating on starters and the other on main courses, the rivalry continues unabated for the next 20 years. But when Raja's daughter Shalini (Amara Karan) decides to plan her wedding to fiancé Mark (Tom Mison), she sees it as an ideal opportunity for her father and uncle to finally bury the hatchet by having them both cook on her big day.
